Joe Ross- Let’s Play Mandolin

Raised in Japan, Joe Ross’ music career started on organ in sixties rock/soul bands in Yokohama. Bluegrass, Celtic and Old-Time music entered his life in the 1970s at University of Oregon. Fiddlin’ Earl Willis and The Hoedowners introduced him to OOTFA. Over the years, he’s picked up guitar, mandolin, bass, banjo, dulcimer, concertina, autoharp and ukulele. Joe performs regularly, loves to jam and has released albums spanning Celtic to bluegrass, swing to jazz, folk to children’s music. He also writes for music magazines and blogs, gives lessons in Roseburg, and is a storyteller. Happily retired from his day job supporting the U.S. Marine Corps in Twentynine Palms, Ca., Joe now works full-time to share and encourage “enjoyment, fun and camaraderie of making music together.”
